There’s still snow in my yard and the grass is brown outside, so I decided I needed to bring a little green to my mantel. I gathered things from other areas and this is what I decided I had to work with. The window, wreath and two tall candle sticks were staying from the previous mantel design, but the rest I wasn’t sure of.
I added the sign and the weather vane back in. Then I added one of the plates I’d been saving for a plate wall. One of the plants came from my entry window and the tall one from the top of my kitchen cabinets.
I was starting to like it, but I was still missing something. Birds! So I added a bird here
And a bird there.
I like the mantel a lot more now. I did this at about midnight last night so I hope I still like it in the morning.
Yep, I still like it!
I know it’s not much green, but I like the little bit of spring color it adds to this area of the livingroom. I’m sorry, it’s impossible to get a decent picture of the fireplace with my little camera. Who puts a window just a few inches away from the fireplace anyway?
Love your mantle!! 🙂 Of course it needed a bird (or two)! 🙂
LOVE the colors you are using for this! Very pretty and FUN mantle.
It looks like spring is just around the corner!
Hey I like how this turned out. Love how you tweaked it and your thoughts doing it. Spring has come in a beautiful way at your home!
Have a blessed day.
Come by for a visit sometime!

That looks great! I like the birds, I always try to sneak a few in someplace, too! Also, the contrast of the white items against the deep color of the walls is lovely.
Try to stop by sometime, have a good day.
