Wrapping Gifts to be Mailed

Do you have to mail packages to your loved ones this Christmas? Are you worried about how they’ll look once they get to their destination? I quit putting bows on my gifts years ago. They would arrive smashed or ripped off and never looked good once they arrived. Here’s some ideas I came up with to dress up the outside of the packages you’re sending. It adds detail and design to the gift and arrives still looking good. Plus it’s yarn and twine so it’s really cheap. You can use ribbon and scrapbook paper too, but this was cheaper.

All these packages were sent to Canada:

I’ve used this same paper for 3 years now and I’ll probably be using it next year too. I think these rolls replenish themselves at night. The red and white beads are from an old garland.

Think of new ways to wrap the yarn around the packages. The one on the right is a Christmas tree shape. I just used tags from the office supply store to write the names on.

And the best part……. No cost. I already had everything on hand. I think everyone is really starting to think I’m a cheapskate this year. Really I’m just trying to simplify and not stress so much, and it’s really working. Plus I have more money to spend on gifts now. Yay!

Oh how I adore the way these look! I LOVE to come up with new ways to decorate a wrapped gift, and I forgot to raid my sewing stash…until now!

These are all so cute Leanne…and I have never-ending rolls of Christmas wrap too. I keep thinking we’ll use them up for sure *this* year….but, um, nope 🙂

Thanks for linking to Mi4M! So happy to have you!
