Tickets American Flag

4th of July 2011 007.1

I love Summer decorating especially for the 4th of July. July also reminds me of carnivals, sno-cones, fireworks, kiddie rides, and game booths. When I saw these tickets at the dollar store I knew I wanted to use them in my July decorating and make a tickets American flag.

I used an 8″x10″ frame because that’s what I had. If I were going to buy one I’d probably get a bigger one for bigger impact. I cut a piece of white cardstock to 8″x10″ to fit inside the frame. Then I used it as a guide for my tickets. I layed out my flag design then adhered it to the cardstock with double sided tape.

Once it was complete I placed it in the white frame. And there you have it.

I love how it turned out. It was just what I had in mind. I still have a ton of tickets so I need to think of another fun project to use them on.

Have you started crafting or decorating for the 4th of July?

This is so clever. I love how it looks. I should probably get out my fourth of July decor, but since we also have the 24th I’m not usually in a hurry in June since I keep it up all July.

Amy

I love, love, love this, Leanne! What an AWESOME use for those tickets. And what is it about tickets, anyway? I kind of adore them….only I can’t explain why. Anyway, this is fab. And I’m going to be sharing it on my FB page today. Hope that’s okay. :)

I’ve been loving all your crafts you’ve come up with lately–they are so simple and beautiful! Also I’ve been travelling the last week or so so I missed the news about your daughter and family crisis–it sounds scary! Hopefully everything is going okay now, email me if you need to talk about it! Also I will be in Utah soon so I’d love to see you if that would be possible. :) Miss you!
