You may have noticed our stocking weren’t hung from the mantel this year. I have grandsons spending a lot of time with us this Christmas and decided it would be a little wiser to hang them out of reach. So I chose to hang them from the shelf in our entry. Since I’m decorating on a budget this year, I’ve used things I’ve had around the house for years.
I love the white pitchers, both were purchased from Tai Pan Trading for under $4 each. They have such amazing deals there. I’m a little sad I can’t take more advantage of their deals this year. I don’t know how long I’ve had the berries. I love how they look in the pitchers.
I use my faux mercury glass candlestick holders everywhere in my house. I don’t think I ever have candles in them though. I spray painted the stocking holders silver this year. They were purchased at Dollar Tree years ago.
The kids have had the same stockings for years. Ammon wasn’t born when we purchased them so his is different. Since we’l be having our older kids and their families here for Christmas, their stockings will be hung on the stair railing.
Do you always hang your stockings in the same place or do you change it up a little every year?
I don’t have a fireplace so I change it. This is also the 3rd home I have been in for Christmas in the past 4 years LOL. I can’t remember where I hung them last year, but this year they are hanging from room/stairwell divider. I guess it is a mantel of sorts.
I love your decorating ideas 🙂
Hi! I’ve never posted on your site before but I check it out almost daily. Thank you for posting all of your crafting experiences! I really enjoy reading your posts and getting ideas from you. And I love that you are keeping everything budget-friendly this year. I’m always looking for ways to save money, not just in these times, but always, so thank you!
I forgot how I found your site…it must’ve been through other blogs, and other blogs, etc.
