Peek Through Last Week (January 16-24)

I don’t know why I didn’t start this at the beginning of 2010. Probably because I just thought of it 2 nights ago. I’m going to post a picture a day from the week before with a little write up about the picture. This is mostly for my family and friends that live far away and don’t have time during the week to read my blog. You’re also allowed to read it if you don’t live far away, but I hope it doesn’t boar you to tears. It’s also a way for me to journal some of the everyday things that happen around here. So, here it goes.

Saturday- Ammon has never been a good napper. He hasn’t taken scheduled naps since he was 12 months old, but this still happens on some days. He had a friend over, earlier in the day, to play. They played legos, army, Starwars and Indiana Jones and apparently all those adventures exhausted him. This is how I found him 10 minutes after putting a movie in for him to watch.

Sunday- I love leftover candy sticks from Christmas. Nuff said!

Monday- January is my favorite time to clean and organize. Today it was the kid’s room. They really did well with donating toys and getting rid of junk. There weren’t too many tears. They wanted to make sure they had enough room for all their new toys they got for Christmas. That’s why I like doing it in January. Here’s some of the bags we donated to the thrift store.

Tuesday- An Iceberg fast food just opened down the street from us. I used to go to the original Iceberg in Sugar House when I was in high school almost every weekend. Oh, the shakes are soooooo yummy. The kids had done so well at cleaning and organizing their rooms that I decided they needed to be rewarded with a big yummy shake. These shakes are huge. This is the mini size. They’re just as yummy as I remember and the girls thought so too.

Wednesday- Emilee had Activity days today and her cute leaders taught them how to make “I Spy” bags. Her’s turned out so cute. She sewed the whole thing herself and did a great job. She wants me to do a tutorial on it this week, so look for it later.

Thursday- My boys like what they like. This is their breakfast 90% of the time during the week. Cinnamon toast with milk.

Friday- Every friday night the kids have a sleepover in the loft area. It was just down to the boys this week, so they made a fort and got out a portable DVD player to watch their movies on. After about 10 minutes they were downstairs asking for popcorn and a drink. They spent the whole night in the fort, but it doesn’t look very comfy to me.

Saturday- Doug has to have a project and he doesn’t like to settle on little ones. He wants to take things apart and move big things and scare me with the ceiling falling down or something crashing through the floor. We have attic accesses all through our upstairs and he likes to make things out of them, like playrooms or more storage areas or ways to expand other rooms. We’ll talk more about that later, but this is usually how he spends his saturday mornings.

Sunday- Yep, today’s my Birthday and I haven’t even cried today. It’s a long story, but I’ve cried almost every birthday since I turned 30. Actually, I’m getting better the older I get. Anyway, here’s some things I got for my birthday and also what I got for Christmas.

Chair from Target. I gave the hint and Doug got it. Yay for him and me!

From Chris and Emilee. Thanks, you guys! It goes perfect in my bedroom.

For Christmas I got this love seat. We decided 2 love seats and 2 chairs would fit better in our little living room than a big sofa and a love seat. I love it and the room looks so much bigger now.

All the kids got together and got me a gift card to a local spa. I haven’t used it yet, but I can’t wait for a day of pampering.

So, since today is my Birthday I’m having a giveaway this week. I’ll start it tomorrow, so check back then!

Happy Birthday! It’s your party, cry if you want to!
Such a neat idea for your pictures. I don’t know how you find the time to do all you do. I’m always trying to catch up these days.

When your Husband runs out of projects send him my way. My own Dear Hubby has so many on the list but everytime we start one it seems to get put aside for something else and never returned to.

Hope your day was fun and that all is better in your house! Take Care.

I laughed when I read that you have cried on your birthday almost every year since you’ve been 30. I do the same thing, and I’m 29!!! I think it’s just the realization of time passing. Sounds like you had a nice birthday! (oh, and my birthday is Jan. 18th!)
