Halloween Subway Art

A couple of my friends and I decided we would get together once a month to work on a craft project together. Denise saw Jen’s Halloween Subway Art at Tatertots and Jello and wanted to get together so we could make our own. I started with a 6″x 24″ piece of wood (it’s actually a piece of leftover baseboard) and spray painted it black.

Denise, Jami and I all have Cricuts so we divided up the words and used different cartridges to make the letters. We decided together on the size, fonts and colors for each word. And used contact paper for the white letters but had to buy vinyl for the orange letters, so I spent about $2 for this project. We chose the layout by arranging the letters on the board before adhering them.

Denise had this cute spider on one of her cartridges that we just had to use. I started adhering the layout with “skeleton” and “scary” at the top.

Then adhered the “boo” at the bottom. Once those were on, I filled in the other words, starting at the top.

I’m so pleased with how it turned out. Thanks Denise for suggesting it and thanks for the yummy cinnamon rolls with cream cheese frosting. I’ll post her recipe as soon as I make them for my family.

I have it leaning on the stair rail by the front door but I’m not sure if it’s staying there. Now we have to come up with another fun project for next month.

Have a Wonderful Weekend!

I love this! And what a great way to use that extra baseboard. If you get a chance, I’d love for you to come link it to my party this weekend. Starts tomorrow at 6pm PST. Hope to see you there! Again, looks awesome!
