I think I’m hooked on making ribbon roses. They’re so easy, plus I can make them while watching Glee and So You Think You Can Dance. I had this blah green pillow sitting on my sofa looking sad:
So I thought I’d perk it up a little by making some ribbon roses for it. Do you remember how easy these are to make? Make sure the ribbon has wire in it. Start pulling on one of the wires and shirring as you go. They start coiling on their own which makes it super simple:
Shape them how you like them to look, then hot glue the center of the flower, on the back, to keep it all together:
Make a few stitches on the back of the flower to attach them to the pillow. I love it, but not sure about how Hubby feels about it. He didn’t have much to say. I got all the ribbon on sale at Robert’s for 40% off. This pillow is the real color, sorry about the first picture. Do the rest of you take pictures at midnight? Ta-Da!
These are beautiful!! Once I realized there was practically no sewing I was in! And of course the rest of us take pictures at midnight, silly. When else can we tend to our blogs? 🙂
It’s so pretty! Great simple idea!
I really like how that turned out. Pillow+flowers=Personality
