Quick Tip #17 – Sidewalk Chalk Container

Is your sidewalk chalk a mess like mine?
I like to have everything stored in one container but the kids have multiple containers of chalk.

So once the ice cream container was empty I had a brilliant idea.
I painted the lid with chalkboard paint so it could be easily labeled.

Let the paint dry for at least a day then prime it with the side of a piece of chalk and wipe clean.

Now you can use the lid as a label and write whatever you want on it.

The chalk is now all in one place and easy to get to.
Don’t you love an easy solution?

Why is it that sidewalk chalk always multiplies and is just so “chalky”? 🙂 I love this solution Leanne!

We were just playing with our sidewalk chalk this morning, like 8am since it is so hot around here.
We do store ours in an old ice cream container. It holds a lot and works well. I hadn’t thought of painting the lid with chalkboard paint. Great idea, thanks for sharing.

LOL. This is the exact same container that my sidewalk chalk is in. without the pretty chalkboard lid though!

This post is perfect for the Monday Kid Corner Weekly Linky Party. The next party goes live Sunday morning and this week’s theme is SIDEWALK CHALK.
