I bought these house numbers a few months ago at the Ace Hardware store near us. They were on the clearance table for .25 cents each. I love finding deals like that. I knew as soon as I saw them I was going to make some wall art for Ammon’s room. I also had 7 of these boards left over from a previous project, so the whole project only cost me about $2.50.
I wanted this piece to be the same size as one of Ammon’s other Subway Art pieces. I used a ruler and exacto knife to cut the board to size.
I primed and spray painted the numbers white and the board was painted black. I had to spray about 4 coats to cover the numbers, especially the metal ones.
After everything dried I used super glue to adhere the numbers to the board. I used super glue because it dries fast and I’m impatient, but you could use another kind of glue if you prefer.
That’s it! A new piece of wall art for Ammon’s room. And very inexpensive too. Since he’s asleep now, I’ll have to hang it tomorrow.

I love how this turned out! I actually have all but ONE number that I need for this same project. I picked them up at Habitat for Humanity a couple months ago and haven’t gotten around to getting it done. Thanks for the push!
I LOVE this project! What a great decorative and educational piece for a kids’ room or playroom. Great work!
