Above is the video I made for the app. If you’re having a hard time viewing it here simply follow the step by step instructions on this page. This project would also make a great housewarming gift. Or wouldn’t this be cute for each of your kids, with their name on it.

Start by ripping the fabric into 1″ strips. You can use my fabric choices or pick your favorite colors and patterns.

Shape the rope, on the wood wall sign, into the word you choose. Hold it in place with tape once you have the placement you like. Wrap the string around the rope where the letters overlap or intersect. This will help the letters keep their shape and make it easier to wrap the fabric around the rope.

Pick the fabric you want to start with and secure it to the beginning of the rope with hot glue. Continue wrapping the fabric around the rope until the first letter is completely wrapped. It will take 2-4 fabric strips per letter depending on the size of the letter.

Choose your second fabric and hot glue it to the end of the first fabric. Continue wrapping all of the letters until the word is finished. Hot glue the end of the fabric in place and cut off the excess.

Position your word on the wood wall sign and hot glue it in place. You can hold the fabric covered rope in place with tape as you’re gluing it to the sign.

Now I want to share a more information about the new JOANN app with you. If you love to create this is the app for you.
