Just a Little Pink

Do you see it? The little bit of pink I added to my bedroom. Hubby’s okay with it because it’s on my desk. Our bedroom is black, white, and green. I wanted to add a surprise color. You know, the one that you notice right away and it just makes you smile. I think it will look even better once the desk is painted white.

This is how the lamp started. Well, not really. I had already made the lamp shade neked. I found it in the basement while I was decluttering. See, you never know when you’ll find something useful while decluttering.

I started by taping off the areas I didn’t want painted.

Oh, so cute! I used Krylon Watermelon spray paint in gloss finish.

I didn’t prime it first because I wanted some of the under base to show through. I love how it turned out. The color brings out the details so much better now.

I have to say, I’m loving my new little watermelon pink lamp. What about you? Do you like to add a surprise color to your rooms? How do you feel about pink?

    Leanne- I love this lamp! It’s so cute, and I love having a pop of an accent color. And especially one that just makes you smile. {that would be orange for me}

    I love it! I think the color is perfect, and the finished product looks great. When I have enough time/money to color code my rooms then I think I will like to add a little something extra to make it pop too 🙂

    I love this! I actually have the same color spray paint and have used it on a black frame. I didn’t prime it, either, and loved that a little black came through. We’re putting a picture of my daughter with Princess Aurora (Sleeping Beauty is her favorite princess) in it and putting it in her room. I have to keep my eye out at the thrift store for a black lamp to spray paint and put on her dresser. Thanks for the inspiration!
