What’s In Your Baskets?

I just realized I have a lot of baskets. I have totes, buckets, bins and cases too, but I’m just focusing on the baskets right now. They hide things, hold things and keep things organized. Here’s a few of the baskets in my home and how they’re being used.

I use a laundry basket in the laundry closet, to hold Emilee’s clean, folded clothes until she takes them upstairs and puts them on her floor away in her drawers.

Baskets 001

One in the boy’s/guest bathroom, to hold wash cloths and hand towels.

Baskets 002

Another one in the entertainment center, to hold/hide Wii games and remotes. Also TV remotes, but they’re probably hidden in the couch cushions right now.

Baskets 004

I have one in the living room, to hold blankets, because I’m always cold at night watching TV.

Baskets 005

And in the kitchen, for plastic ware. I use this daily to pack the kids lunches when they have jello, applesauce or pudding. I also use it for outdoor parties and picnics.

Baskets 009

Some of the baskets in the mudroom are used for gloves, hats, and scarves. There’s also baskets for recycling magazines, recycled papers and outgoing items. And no, I still haven’t finished painting the mudroom. When it’s finished, you’ll be the first to know.

Baskets 010

My younger boys share a room and there isn’t enough room for 2 dressers, so Ammon’s clothes are under his bed in baskets. It actually looks pretty cute and he’s old enough not to mess them up.

Baskets 006

This basket is in my bedroom closet for my bags and purses. It helps me keep my purchases under control too. If it doesn’t fit in the basket I can’t buy it or I have to get rid of one I already have.

Baskets 008

I have lots of small baskets in my bathroom drawers to hold make-up, medicine, nail polishes, tooth care products, and personal items.

Baskets 007

This basket sits at the bottom of the stairs for items that need to go upstairs. There’s also one upstairs for items that need to come down. If I put something in the basket the kids have one day to put it where it goes or it gets thrown away I remind them to put it away.

Baskets 003

So, do you have a lot of baskets too? What’s in your baskets?

Wow! I can see that I need to visit your blog often to get tips on how to organize better! I’m definitely in need of some of that around here!

Love the baskets and all the cute pictures.

By the way, I’m visiting today from New Friend Friday at TGC.

Nice to meet you!

I love your baskets! However, that is a small one for purses. A girl can never have enough purses :)

Yes, I have a ton of baskets and use them just like you. . for EVERYTHING. I don’t think it’s possible to have too many. . .?

I LOVE baskest (and boxes!). I especially like your basket for the blankets in the living room and the two for upstairs/downstairs. Very clever. :)

I am a basket and tote gal myself!

I love baskets! Of course I don’t really own that many but seeing all the use you get out of yours makes me want to get more.

I saw that your son’s name was Ammon and wondered if you might be LDS. The Personal Progress book in the last picture kind of answered that question. LOL!

Ooo, you gave me some new ideas for things to keep in baskets, thanks! I love them too, and one can never have too many, right?

I love baskets. My hubby does not … you see besides the organization part of the baskets my daughter collects baskets. We have them hanging as decoration in her room. Every time we go to the thrift shop or yard sales we come home with baskets. Now I am inspired to show my baskets on my blog. Better clean first … nobody wants to see the daughters room. It resembles the landfill. :)

i collect stuffed animals… but got tired of them being shoved in boxes or hidden under each other in piles on my bed or on shelves i’d rather use for books. so i got a 2″ x 6′ dowel, got it resting on top of window panes kitty-corner in my bedroom, and hung several of my baskets from it – full of stuffed animals! adds a cute touch & the stuffed animals are not looking all cluttered plus it is out of the way while adding a bit of decor to an otherwise dead space of the room.
