Quick Tip #16 – Spray Paint Your Jewelry

I haven’t posted a quick tip for a couple months now. So, here you go!
What do you do if you have cute filigree earrings but don’t like the boring color?

Spray paint them, of course! I used the colors; Rustoleum Summer Squash, Krylon Global Blue, Krylon Cherry Red, Krylon Watermelon and Valspar Pistachio.

Quite the transformation, don’t you think? Color can make all the difference.

I love them all! I couldn’t help putting a pair on.

Have you spray painted jewelry?

I have been known to spray paint my jewelry, too :) I love the Pistachio colour! I’m always buying Krylon paint because it’s fairly inexpensive and widely available. I’ll have to take a better look at the selection that Lowes sells.

I did this today!! I haven’t worn earrings in FOREVER, but I’m going to start again. I love how it made me feel like I was getting a brand new item, but it’s just the jewelry from the back of the closet!

I once had a watch that my daughter got me for Mother’s Day that turned my wrist green. I wore it so often that the pretty silver plating wore off and the copper underneath began to react to my skin. To avoid the awful green ring around my wrist, I used clear spray paint, and turned the watch upside down. I sprayed the watch while it was laid on a piece if Styrofoam (the Styrofoam melts where the paint touches, keeping the watch from sticking to the surface when the paint dries). I have also used it on belt buckles for my niece who is allergic to the nickle that is in most belt buckles, preventing a horrible rash on her stomach.

I love a good spray paint project and this is amazing!

I would love it if you would share this at the Smart Solutions linky party. You can link up here:
