Welcome to this month’s Point of View reveal and link party. The theme is “Pinterest”.
How many of you love Pinterest and pin constantly? My hand’s up!
But I have to admit I haven’t made much of what I’ve pinned.
So this was the perfect chance to finally make something I thought was pin worthy.

You can check out all these projects by visiting each of these awesome blogs.

I saw these rock trivets and knew I wanted one for my kitchen.
Funny thing, the post was on Martha Stewart Weddings and had nothing to do with the trivets.
It was about the teapot.

So I figured out a super easy way to make this awesome rock trivet.
I love bringing nature indoors, plus my boys think rocks are pretty cool.

I used a salad plate and traced around it on the brown felt.

I cut 2 pieces and hot glued them together to make the base sturdier.

Then I arranged the rocks and started gluing them down.

Why is it that when I arrange the rocks then pick them up to glue them, then put them back down they don’t fit the way they did in the first place? It always happens to me.

So I made a few adjustments and it turned out perfect.
Well, as perfect as rocks can be.

I totally love it!

Doesn’t it look awesome on my black counters?
Maybe I should get a glass teapot to sit on it.

Beautiful!. Very clever project.
I want to try it, but I think the felt base it’s not sturdy enough. I will try it cork or something like wood.

Love it Leanne. It looks so natural and calming for your kitchen. What a fun accent for your counter. And I totally think you need a glass teapot. :)

This really is a great way to bring the outdoors in. Where did you get your rocks from? I love that they are river rocks. (from an actual river?) Anyway. Thanks for sharing the how to!

Your trivet came out perfect! You made it look so easy, I may have to make one myself. As far as Pinterest goes, I really love it and use many craft ideas & tips and also recipes. It’s so much more organized than my own “pinning” system I had developed on my computer and takes up less space! Thanks for hosting the party!

Love this…thanks for showing. I have some Ikea cork trivets and was trying to think of something to make them fun.

I love it! And I’m so glad to hear that I’m not the only person who pins things for something other than what the original post/image was actually about :)

I pinned the exact same image for the same reason… I love those trivets! And you did a fantastic job with yours, it looks great on your counter top.
