Peek Through Last Week (October 23-29)

Here are a few highlights from our busy last week.

We were almost too late to view to Fall colors in the mountains. We headed up to Snow Basin and took our usual hike but the leaves were about done. We should have gone up there a week or two ago.

I was able to get a few pictures of the trees and a few of the kids. The weather was cooling down fast so we cut our hike a little short. It was still beautiful!

Emilee is in the Choir in Jr. High. They had their first performance of the year this week. They sang 4 songs and did really well. Emilee didn’t like the Latin song though. She’s in the center of the middle row.

Yay! I can put rice back into my diet this week. I’m starting with white rice then after a few days I can move onto brown rice. I hope I do well with them both. It will be great to have rice back again. I had cream of rice for breakfast.

Our Ward/Neighborhood Trunk or Treat party was Wednesday night. There were chili, hotdogs, and breadsticks for dinner. Then the kids played games for prizes and candy. It seemed like most of the games involved Nerf guns which Zach and Ammon loved.

Emilee helped with the games and passed out candy. The last thing we did was the Trunk or Treat. It was getting pretty cold by then but it didn’t take the kids long to clean everyone out of their candy.

I had a fun Girls Night Out on Thursday. Can you tell who I dressed up as? It was great to see some old friends again. Well, not too old, I’ve only known them for a year and to meet some new friends. I won a prize for best celebrity impersonator too. Thanks Sassy Scoops for the invitation and for putting on such a fun get together.

Friday was super busy. It started off with the 6th grade having their Egyptian party. They had been learning about Egypt and now they got to experience some of the things the ancient Egyptians did. I was working the mummy wrapping relay. It was just for fun and the kids had a great time wrapping each other up then racing around the cones. Zach wanted to be wrapped really tight.

Ammon’s class party was at the same time I was helping with Zach’s class so I didn’t make it to his. But I did make it to the ceremony of  Zouying Elementary School and our school forming sisterhood schools. Zouying Elementary School is in Taiwan. Since Ammon is in the oldest Chinese speaking grade at our school his class got to sing 2 songs to our visitors from Taiwan. His teacher this year is on the far left and his teacher last year is on the far right.

The school carnival was also on Friday. There was food, games, rides and prizes. The kids had a lot of fun but it was a long day so I was ready to go home and watch a movie. The boys both played Minute to Win It. Zach won bouncing the ping pong ball in the bucket.

Ammon and his friend didn’t win at wrapping the toilet paper around each other, but they gave it a good try.

Hubby and I want out Saturday night to dinner and a movie. Can you guess where we ate? Mimi’s really has a pretty good menu for my restricted diet right now. Although they put us in the back and forgot about us. Hubby had to go up front after about 15 minutes of them not even coming to get us something to drink. We weren’t mad, we just wanted to order. The server wanted to give us a free appetizer but we didn’t want one. We ordered and the dinner was going fine and then they started setting up for a huge group of people coming to the back room, probably about 30-35 people. We hurried and ate so we could get out of there before they came. Our server was really nice and apologetic. She brought us a selection of 4 huge muffins and boxed them up for us. We tipped her really well because she was so nice, but the next time they try to sit me in the back I’m going to say no. The kids had the muffins for breakfast this morning.
