My Favorite Everyday Make Up

by leanneja on February 15, 2015 · 2 comments

in Fashion,General organizing

Finding and sharing ways to save money are some of my favorite things to do. Why spend more on something when it isn’t necessary? There are a few make-up items I will spend some big bucks on (I am getting older after all) but the majority of my make-up purchases are from big box stores. I was happy to discover that I could purchase the majority of my favorite everyday make-up products from Dollar General and save even more money.

Easy Everyday Organizing Series

by leanneja on February 11, 2015 · 4 comments

in General organizing

I taught an Organizing Class a few months ago and promised I would put the info on my blog for easy reference. I’m breaking the class into 6 different blog posts so it will be easy to read and so it’s not the length of a novel. The series is going to run over the next few weeks and will be called Easy Everyday Organizing. It will take a few weeks because I will also be blogging about other things between series posts, so be sure to check back often.

Are you decorating a mantel or shelf for Valentine’s day? I pulled together this Valentine’s Day mantel using items from other rooms and a few decorations left over from Christmas. I find satisfaction in shopping my house and being able to pull together a holiday themed mantel for no cost, proving you can spend little or no money making your home beautiful.

Are you like me? Do you have oodles of craft supplies that you aren’t using? I’m making an effort to use the things I already have in my craft stash to create some fun projects this year. Don’t get me wrong I’m sure I’ll be buying a few supplies for upcoming projects but I also want to see what I can create with what I already have. Let’s start with these Paper Straw Arrows. Raise your hand if you have an obsession with paper straws! Yep, me too!

Let’s do a January Posts Round Up, shall we? I was very sick most of January so I’m actually pleasantly surprised how much I actually got accomplished. If you missed any of my posts in January this is where you can catch up. I hope you find a few things that will inspire you to be creative, get organized, and maybe try a few recipes.

Football Banner

in Crafts,Decorating,Paper Crafts,Parties

I have to admit, I’m not much into watching football unless the Colts are playing or it’s the Super Bowl. Yes, you can imagine my disappointment this year. I was hoping to decorate with blue and white balloons and banners. Oh well, I decided it would be fun to make a Football Banner for the Super Bowl anyway that would also be great for a birthday party or end of football season celebration. The best part is you can make this banner in under 15 minutes (30 minutes if you don’t have a personal cutting machine).
