My 2012 Calendar/Planner

My calendar/planner has got to be my favorite #1 organizing tool.
My life would be in shambles without it.
It keeps me, hubby, the kids, and household running smoothly (most of the time).

I always look forward to a new calendar with beautiful empty pages

But I like filling it up even more.
I have to say my favorite planner is the Franklin brand, but they are a little pricey
So I’m taking a leave from the Franklin this year (a little sad).

I’m going with a smaller, cheaper planner that I think will work just as well for me (I hope).
I found it at Target and it only cost $4.99.
It is really plain though, so I thought I’d add a little personality to it.

I used my Cricut and some contact paper to make a cute cover for my planner.

Then I added the year in green vinyl.

Much cuter now, don’t you think?

Do you have an organizing tool you just can’t live without?

Looks great! I also love my calendar. I tried scheduling on my iPod for a while but it didn’t work for me. I need to be able to write things out:)

That looks great! I’m a sucker for a cute cover and I hate when the inside is good but the cover is boring. I love what you did to it!

I just found the perfect calendar (for me) at Target the other day. It’s a HUGE desk one with BIG squares so I can keep up with this busy family of mine. My husband drilled two holes in the top and I huge it on the wall in the kitchen so I can keep it all updated there. It was in the clearance dollar section for 50 cents!

I spent a little while filling in family birthdays and our activities we know the dates for and it’s already getting full. Those empty squares are my favorite, but they sure don’t stay empty long enough! I used to try and keep a little planner and a wall calendar and gave up on the planners because I’m at home enough normally to check the wall and if I’m scheduling something with a friend it’s usually over the computer so I can see what I’m up to before committing.

My husband bought me one for this year with come input from our son. They got the “Mom likes to see the whole month at a time” part right but the one they found has the weeks starting on Monday on the monthly view page. I prefer weeks starting with Sunday! I’m going to be confused all year!!

Such a cute planner! I love using Google calendar, it syncs with my phone, tablet computer & laptop. Also my husbands phone, tablet computer & laptop. I love it! Works great for us as we are both into technology & one of us can add something to the calendar & the other person see it on their calendar.

This is so cute!! I wish I had a Cricut so I could do that to mine. I’m lost without my planner!

I love my August to August Calendar by Mixed Role Productions. They also have a January to January Calendar too! but I’m a teacher and my life is scheduled from August to August. It has a page with the entire month on it; which is followed by individual days. I add my own tabs with each of the months labeled on it and some great colored pens for coding all of the events. Thank you for your blog!

I’m so glad I stumbled on your site – I love what you did with your planner! I have a cricut and I’m always looking for more projects to do with it. What cartridge did you use – I love the look of the letters. Where do you get contact paper…any craft store? Any special tricks to running it through the cricut?
