Lego Wall Art

I’m trying to decorate 4 kids rooms spending little or no money while doing it. Hubby says I have a craft and thrift store in the basement. Well, I guess that’s a good thing now.

I had these 3 frames down stairs in my stash, but 2 were the wrong color. So, of course,I spray painted them all black.

Ammon loves Legos. He plays with them everyday and comes up with many different and pretty impressive creations. These Lego cards are from an old game that I thought would be perfect hanging on his wall.

I cut blue card stock to fit inside the frame.

And used double sided tape to secure the card to the card stock.

Then I placed them in the frames.

And lined them up on the wall.

Ammon’s room is road signs, subway art and maps in black, brown and blue.

I wanted to be able to incorporate the Legos too, so I chose the cards with vehicles on them. They’re a little brighter than the rest of the room, but I think they still fit in well and I love the pop of red.

Ammon loves them on the wall and he’s already made all of them.

Please ignore the really beat up wall. His walls need to be spackled and painted, but I’m painting Zach’s room right now, so Ammon’s will have to wait.

What a clever idea to use the old instruction sheets! I’m surprised you still had them and they were in one piece! LOL. Such a “simple” way to make custom art! Nice!!

Love, love ideas like this!!! Testiment to my motto that you don’t have to buy store bought art. It’s so personal, just for your little guy. Very cute.

I’m working on decorating 3 kids (boys) rooms all at once too right now! I would LOVE to see more ideas and things you’re doing. What a smart idea about the lego prints! Awesome.

Great idea! My little guy is obsessed with trains, so I took photos of old trains from an old calender and framed them for his room = perfect and no cost!

How funny! I’m getting ready to redo my son Benjamin’s room, and as he’s a lego fanatic I was trying to come up with ways to incorporate that theme….great timing and a great idea!

Very clever. My adult son would like these :-) He claims he was the original Zack the Lego maniac since the commercial came out when he was about twelve.

Very clever! Brilliant use of the Lego cards. I make Lego mosaics and usually theyre the first thing that come to my mind when wondering what to hang on the wall. Still, i love this! Thanks for sharing!

My son was a Lego nut when he was younger ~ this would have been perfect for his room then! He and my hubby were always putting some of those larger kits together on my dining room table. And like my daughter put her Barbies in containers “to save”, he put his Lego’s in containers! : )

BTW, feel free to blog about your goody swap when you get it. I’ll link everyone’s post about to a main area on my blog. I’ll be doing my own post this week!
