Framed Nest

You all have such great ideas that I can’t help but bring some of them into my own home. I think you’ve framed everything from pumpkins to pears to eggs to nests. You know I love birds and what goes along with birds? That’s right, nests! It was only going to be a matter of time before I framed something different and a nest is a perfect first choice.

I got this print from The Graphics Fairy. Love her! It’s from the category, End Papers. I made it larger by 200% and then printed it out on regular printer paper.

Here’s the other supplies I used: a nest, an old frame and white card stock.

I trimmed the extra paper off from the printed area.

It was a little small for the 8 x 10 opening, so I glued a piece of white card stock to the back of the print to make it look like it’s matted. Then I placed it in the frame and used hot glue to attach the nest.

Oh, how cute and Springy (Springy is my new word lately). The tan eggs were bothering me a bit so I decided to paint them.

Blue with brown speckles (DecoArt- Spa Blue and Country Maple). I like them much better now.

I’m happy I’ll be able to keep this framed nest on display for at least a few more months.

Let’s see….. what can I frame next?

Oh my gosh this is so cute! If I saw this in your house I would never have guessed that it was handmade, it looks so professionally done! Did you glue the nest to the paper, or did the glass keep it in place? I love your blog. 🙂

Very pretty, Leeanne! I’ve got something similar on my to-do list, too! Love how you put the larger eggs at the base of the picture as part of the vignette.
