Emilee’s Art Buckets

I’m working on Emilee’s room a little at a time and luckily haven’t spent much money yet. I’ve been able to find things around the house to use in her room. I had these little buckets in the basement storage, but they were the wrong color. (Her room colors are yellow, green and black)

So it was time to get out the black spray paint. I used clothespins to hang the buckets from a hanger to paint them.

It worked pretty well but it was 95 degrees outside, the wasps were flying around me (they thought I was trying to kill them with the spray paint), and the hanger kept swinging so it was like trying to paint a moving target.

I usually love spray painting, but not so much today. Then I had to paint the inside.

I was going to label the buckets pens, pencils, colored pencils but then decided it would be more fun to think of a different way to label them. I used my Cricut to cut the words out of vinyl.

And then stuck a word on each bucket.

I used 3 different fonts for the words.

Emilee thought of using “dream”.

They will be hanging on this shelf, but it will be moved over her desk once I move the furniture around.

She draws a lot so it will be nice for her to have them so close at hand.

Cute idea. And the hanger and clothespin idea is so much better than what I do–hang things from a low branch in the trees out back!

I love black and white! These look sooo cute. What a transformation. (I haven’t enjoyed spray painting much this summer either)

I host a link party on my blog every month about words/quotes (The Weekend Word Search). Please consider stopping by at the beginning of Sept! Your project would be a great addition.

I was just going to look for some inspiration for some buckets I’ve got that I want to use for the boy’s art supplies in our homeschool room. TOTALLY love these! I have a friend who’s offered to let me borrow her cricut, so I’m gonna go to town!

    So glad you could Mi4M!
