Decorative Hair Pins

I love my bangs (or fringe, as they’re now called) but not at the beach or in humid weather. You can see my hair style at the right (it’s a little shorter now). I bought these cut pins and they don’t stay in my hair.

Regular bobby pins work great in my hair but they’re not very attractive. So I went through my craft stash and came up with a few things to make my pins more interesting. Just these supplies and a glue gun are all you need.

I think I have a never ending supply of buttons, so why not start there.

Or maybe some pastel ones.

I like the large ones with the smaller ones in the middle.

These are Amanda and Emilee’s favorites.

And since I’m leaving for Hawaii tomorrow morning, why not make some flower ones with button centers.

These are my favorite. Just enough bling, but not too much.

How about more flowers with rhinestone centers.

Or flowers with brad centers.

Emilee volunteered to be my model for one of the pins. Have you ever tried to take a picture of your own head? It was impossible for me.

I know I went a little overboard. It’s not like I’m going to be in Hawaii for a month (I wish), but they were so easy and fun to make. I’ll give some to the girls and keep a few for myself. I can’t see myself wearing the flower ones much, except for maybe in Hawaii. I love fast projects!

About the only thing that holds in my hair is bobby pins also. I have often thought about decorating mine but never have. I love how you did yours so maybe I will just copy what you have done. Have fun in Hawaii

Love these & I’ve got loads of plain pins to make cute (to counteract the fact I spend 0 minutes styling my hair each day). Thanks for linking to Craftastic Monday:)
