I was invited to a GNO sponsored by Shutterfly at Settebello in downtown Salt Lake City. It’s always fun to get together with blogging friends and learn about new products and services. Heidi introduced us to Shutterfly’s new site Family Photo Day and now I want to share it with you. I love getting photos of family and friends that show their personality and style. That’s what #cardworthy is all about. It doesn’t have to be perfect to be cardworthy.
They encourage us to celebrate everyday moments (view the video) and share our story through our photos. This was a perfect idea for us this year. With hubby working in another state and him only coming home every 3 weeks, family pictures were not going to happen this year. We were able to take a trip to California for Thanksgiving and took tons of pictures while we were there. What better photos to represent us this year and the time we had together as a family.
What about having a family photo day? I love this idea of getting several families together and setting up different stations to take your family photos. Have fun with it by being creative with props and backdrops, but keep it simple with the focus on your family. Keeping it casual makes it so fun and less stressful for the whole family (especially mom).

Shutterfly also believes “It’s more than a holiday card, it’s sending joy.” Choose your favorite colors, size and style from a huge selection of cards. Make the cards your own by choosing the one that helps your family’s personality shine. Here are a few of my favorite styles. I love the idea of the top 10 moments of the year.
Have you ordered your holiday cards yet? Shutterfly is offering one of my readers a $50 gift credit. Don’t worry if you already have your cards ordered Shutterfly also has beautiful photo books, calendars and many other wonderful accessories. They would make great gifts too. It’s SO hard to pick a favorite photo from this year! I took so so so many. I think I’d have to go with the picture of my kids all lined up on Halloween with my seven year old’s self done eye makeup (raccoon!) for funny and a picture of my little boy looking up at my dad one evening as the sun set. Great giveaway!
My favorite photo this year was taken a few weeks ago at my parents’ house. My two boys dressed up for my dad’s birthday dinner. They’re sitting on the front porch and my older son has his arm around his little brother. Very handsome and sweet! Perfect for a Christmas card!
Great Giveaway! Love Shutterfly.
Great Giveaway! Love Shutterfly. My favorite photos of the year are from my wedding day!
My favorite photo from this year is a picture of my son at the Vintage Aircraft Museum. He looks so grown and his hair looks good (usually it looks like it needs combing).
My favorite pictures this year were the ones taken of my daughter getting ready for prom and then out on the deck with her boyfriend looking beautiful.
My favorite picture is the one of the whole extended family at thanksgiving! Everyone is smiling, looking at the camera, and eyes open!!
My favorites are ones we got taken at FotoFly. Love that place and every single one of our pictures. It was our first time and definitely not our last.
I know I should pick a family photo, but our Christmas tree this year is perfect. Lots of ornaments that have special meaning and I captured just the right angle with the lights. Now if only I can get my family to gather around it for a great photo.
My good friend is a photographer and she took some photos of us recently. With a 3 year old and 14 month old twins (all boys!), I knew the shoot would be chaotic. My very favorite photo is one of us just letting go and having fun!

A picture of my son laughing and playing.
ALWAYS love Shutterfly =) Such an easy site to use. We used a family photo from a quick trip to the beautiful grounds of a local church one evening. Trying to get our cards out earlier than usual this year so I’m not stressing about it!
Every year my husband and I take a picture of the two of us, holding the frame with the previous years photo in it. It was an idea I found on pinterest. The picture that has been hanging up on our wall all year… is of us holding our wedding picture… This year we took a picture of us holding that frame and it will replace the current one. It is my favorite picture… because we have been through alot these first two years of our marriage… and that picture always reminds me how far we have become… plus I am 20 pounds lighter in the newest photo… so that’s an added bonus

UG! Here’s hoping my favorite family portrait is still to come this year! I really wanted to get one of the 4 of us together and we did in a portrait studio, but my kids look terrible and I am almost embarrassed to send it out! I’m going to take the above tips to heart and try again in a less forced environment! Thanks for hosting
It is the simple moments that mean the most. I love celebrating the everyday, not just “special” days! They are all special days!!
Our family just moved back to the States from Korea… my favorite picture was taken the night before we left. Our family stood in the middle of the street with our neon neighborhood behind us all aglow. It is my favorite picture reminding me of our years in such an amazing place.
My Christmas Cards & photos have been nagging at me, but they have not gotten done. This would be SO VERY helpful!!!
Love all my pictures of my kids….how can you pick just one when they’re all so cute!
My favorite photo this year was a picture with my son after his high school graduation.
I have more than one–son playing baseball, another climbing, and daughter playing t-ball.
My all time fave photo is one taken by my hubby of me and my son at a state park. Usually i’m the one taking pics so i don’t end up in many of them. It’s nothing fancy, simple with trees and a small river in the background.
Great giveaway! y favorite photo is of my 11yr old boy making a chocolate cake. And it was so yummy!
Family photo of my husband, son, and myself at Brown’s Seafood in Seabrook, NH on our first day of vacation.
I have a picture of my girls from this summer at the pool that is my favorite. Of course I haven’t taken my holiday picture yet and I always love that one.
My sister holding my niece right after she was born, PRICELESS!
My favorite photo was our family pictures for our christmas card in the tree farm!
My favorite photo is a photo taken recently of me, my husband and our dog in front of our new house!
