I bought this for $5 at D.I. (thrift store). Pretty, huh? Just kidding! But I knew it would look great with a little spray paint.
And a new shade. The shade was $5 at Ross. I was going for a drum shade like the ones I found for my bedroom, but you can’t be too picky when you’re paying $5.
I added a few accessories I had stored in the basement.
And that’s it. I love spray paint. Now I’m thinking of painting the tray table. Hmmm, what color?

I love your blog it is my favorite. Maybe a pretty blue / teal color for the table.
thanks to you i also now heart spray paint! i’ve been checking out your blog for almost a month now and it is fabulous. yesterday i spray painted some old ornate gold frames black and they are beautiful. i have plans for many other spray paint projects. thanks for the inspiration! question: before you painted this lamp did you prime it or not? just wondering if i need to consider using primer on this kind of thing.
I have the same question as Darcie: what are the tricks to spray painting? I’m new to spray painting and am not sure how to get it to stick to metal….or maybe that’s not even something to be concerned about! Love this lamp re-do!
Love it! A perfect pop of color! Don’t you just love the transformative power of a can of spray paint!
I am also a lover of spray paint. I would spray paint my children if they would sit still. The lamp looks great. I love it! Lisa~
Very pretty. It never ceases to amaze what a little spray paint can do!
Great transformation. I have an old brassy lampbase somewhere in the basement and you have now inspired me to take my bright orange spray paint to it. Great transformation!
Stopping by via Cottage Instincts.
Thats so pretty. Love the green you choose. I have two lamps that desperatly need some spray paint so after seeing yours I think I’ll give it a try.
thanks for the inspiration..
Looks great Leanne!!
Great lamp redo! Love the fresh color- it really makes the curves of the lamp pop.

Love a little spray paint on a lamp, I do it too all the time, no one should ever pay full price for a lamp! Yours looks amazing!
It looks so fresh. That lamp has such a great shape, it could have been just about any color.
Your lamp looks great! I love the green you used!
I love the color of that lamp! DI is the BEST! It’s my fave!!!
What a nice transformation you did there…
And so affordable too.
What a great shade of green. It has a great shape to it too. I’ve noticed that Ross has some great shade that are really cheap. I’ll be checking there first from now on.
That’s quite a transformation! I love that shade of green for the lamp. You can’t beat a new lamp and shade for $10!
I LOVE an inexpensive re-do…. great job and that’s one great color…
Warm blessings,
Spencer
I love spray paint too! I paint EVERYTHING! It’s getting out of hand. Great job on the lamp! Thanks for sharing at VR.
