March is National Craft Month
So, why not start a new craft this month? Or start a new project? Or finish a project you already started? How many unfinished craft projects do you have? Now would be a good time to finish one of those projects you’ve been meaning too. Choose the easiest, fastest, most rewarding or one to give as a gift. It doesn’t matter which one or why, just start on one and get your creative juices flowing. Once you get going you probably won’t want to stop, so keep an eye on the clock.
Go through your craft projects. Decide which ones you’re going to complete and which ones you’re ready to give up on. Give yourself a time limit to finish each unfinished project. Mark it on your calendar and try to set realistic goals for completion. If you’re ready to give up on some projects, give them to an interested friend, a church or community group or donate them to a local charity.
Or you could have a swap party with a group of friends. Have everyone bring a project they want to work on and also all the projects they have decided to give up on. During the party you can complete the project you brought to work on and maybe pick up a new project, while letting the one’s go that you’re never going to complete. Maybe your friend really wants that cross-stitch you started and her unfinished wood box would look great painted and put in your daughter’s room as a jewelry box.
Try to go through your projects and supplies once or twice a year. Access what you really want to work on, what supplies you need and what you can get rid of. Most of us don’t have unlimited space for all of our crafting supplies. Why have all those unfinished projects and unused supplies taking up valuable space? Clear out that space for supplies you really need and projects you really want to work on.
