Entry Make-Over

February 6th, 2010

It’s time to move things around in the Entry again. Once I took everything down from Christmas it was a little empty and sad looking. It’s fairly narrow so I can’t have anything too big or the area feels like it’s closing in on you. And that’s not very welcoming! I shopped around my house to see what might work in the entry and make visitors feel welcome.

Here’s the view from the front door. I left the gate pieces up because I decided I really like them there. The trunk holds my magazines. The vase with sticks in it used to be by the fireplace.

Here’s the view from the living room. The chair and shelf came from the dining area. I think I might paint the shelf  black.

The accessories came from other rooms in the house. There’s a curly willow wreath above the shelf.

And just a touch of Valentine’s Day on the stair railing.

Do you shop your house for furniture and accessories to display in other rooms? I like moving things around and experimenting with them in new places. It makes me feel like I went on a shopping spree. Added bonus: It’s free!

I love that wreath also! I would leave the shelf the color that it is now. It looks like it has some character and fits with everything else. Really pretty entry.
