Jared Barnes is a wonderfully talented artist and has made a 2010 calendar that he has generously offered as a gift to 2 of you. The calendar is titled “Impressions of Christ”. What a lovely gift this would make for yourself or someone else this holiday season. If you don’t win one, remember you can always purchase one from him at Jared Barnes Art. All you have to do for a chance to win is leave me a comment. That’s it, so easy and you could have one of these beautiful calendars of your own. The winners will be chosen randomly on Saturday, November 14.

Isn’t it beautiful? Good luck to all of you!
Now for the necklaces. I told you I am inspired by so many of you. I hope Jen at Tatertots and Jello is flattered and not mad, but her necklaces were so cute and fun I decided to try my hand at some. I think they would make great gifts for the upcoming holidays. I didn’t have to go and buy anything, I just used scrapbooking and jewelry items I already had on hand. I love making crafts like that.
This first one is made from a little metal scrapbook frame. First I added glitter to the frame. Then I used E6ooo to glue 2 jump rings to the back of the frame (1 on top and 1 on bottom). I let dry over night, because I seem to do all my crafting at night these days. I used two pieces of scrapbook paper and a “l” rub-on. I assembled them together and then covered it with diamond glaze. I used 2 pieces of chip board on the back to make it stronger. After it was dry, I added the beads and charms to the bottom and the hemp to the top. I used a magnetic clasp for the necklace.

This one was made from a metal label for scrapbooking. The holes were already there, making it was so much easier. The necklace is leather. This one even got soaked on an amusement park ride and survived.

Here’s another one made with a chain I just cut to the length I needed.

I made some for my daughters but I forgot to take a picture and I was too lazy to go upstairs and get them. You could use ribbon, hemp, twine, chain, leather or anything else you want for the necklace. I think I’ll try making some with pictures next time instead of just letters.

Wouldn’t these make great gifts?

How darling! I adore the oval necklace.
Adorable! I’ve been wanting to make some photo jewelry for my MIL’s (yes i have two) and this is great! But, what is this diamond glaze you speak of!? My crafting knowledge before now has extended to baking, costuming, and kids crafts, so diamond glaze is a bit new to me.
Those are so cute! Maybe I’ll give it a try!
