Tai Pan Trading Sale
If you live near a Tai Pan Trading you should take advantage of the sale they have going on now. Plus they have all their Easter and Spring decor out. It made me feel like warmer weather was just around the corner the minute I walked in. But that wasn’t why I went there. I went to look at their art. At 50% off, I was hoping there would be a great deal on something that would go great somewhere in my home. I don’t usually have great plans, but I know what I like when I see it and then I know exactly where it will go. I found something I love. I’ve been meaning to make a subway sign for a while, but hadn’t got around to it yet. I found this amazing one at Tai Pan.

I lived in California for a while and went to Griffith Park almost every weekend and Venice Beach was one of my favorite beaches. All these roads and places are so familiar to me and bring back memories. Some good, some not so good, but I still love the sign. It’s a good size too. 20″x 20″ and 1 3/4″ thick. And the cost? Only $20! I didn’t think that was too bad. I’m so excited to have found it. I think it’s going in Ammon’s room. I’m still going to make one in the future. I have a great idea for one and it’s a place we love to visit.
I found these dessert plates too. They’re $1.97 for a set of 6. That’s a screamin’ deal. They have 3 different prints on them. These would make great gifts, especially with a treat on them.

There are a lot of other great buys too. Here’s just a few:
12 Pieces of Jewelry for $19.79
22″ Designer Clock for $19.97
Glass Heart Candy Dish for $1.97
There’s also a free necklace with the purchase of $50 or more. If you live near a Tai Pan be sure to stop by and check out the sale. It goes through February 13.

Well, the Spy Party was a huge success. All the kids had a great time and Zach said it was the best party ever. It’s the next day and they’ve been talking about it all morning. Emilee had a great time too and Ammon wants a Spy Party now for his birthday.
The party started with the boys coming over to the table a getting the supplies they would need for the mission. Since they were all arriving at different times, some boys were putting on their gear while others were still arriving and bringing their scooters and blades to the door. Spy gear: compasses, sunglasses, beanies, listening devices and water bottles. And they were all asked to wear black, which was a great idea because it was way easier to find them at the Skating Rink when it got crowded.

Since some of the guests still hadn’t arrived so we decided to open presents first. A huge bag of candy. A perfect gift for a 10 year old boy.

We had black balloons blown up and a message was rolled up and placed in one of the balloons. The balloons were bombs.

The Spys ready for their Mission.

After all the boys arrived. It was time to make the bombs explode to find the message about their mission. The boys got busy popping all the balloons and it got pretty wild. The clue was found and it read something like: The Party Loot Bags have been stolen. If you choose to accept this mission and recover the stolen items you will need to collect all your important gear, alternate transportation (scooters or blades) and proceed to the transportation waiting for you in the garage. I didn’t take a picture of the clue.

It took them a while to find the clue in all the popped balloon pieces.

Once at the Skate Rink, we went to the bounce area. There they had to find Emilee and decipher the clue using the cipher card that came in their party invitation. Emilee had an extra cipher card in case the boys forgot theirs. It took them a while to find her.

Still looking.

Deciphering the code.

Still working on it.

Which leads them to the place where Doug is hiding with the next clue.

They have to read the hidden message in the mirror to discover the next clue that will lead them to Amanda.
Still hunting.

Yay, they found her and the next clue. Sorry, but I was running around trying to get all these pictures and missed some. She gave them play money, on the back was written the next message that said: The stolen items have been located near the large oval. Which was the skating rink. It took them a while to figure that out.

They couldn’t find the large oval.

Once they found the large oval, they had to find the stolen loot. Look at Zach rechecking the clue on the money.

They found Doug and thought maybe he had the bags. They were right! The bags had glow in the dark laynards to wear for skating, glow in the dark straws, exploding rock candy, lots of candy and more spy gear.

Then it was time for pizza, cupcakes and donut bombs.

Hungry boys.

And thirsty.

Mmmmmm! Yum!

More bouncing.

Flipping.

Sock races.

Riding scooters.

Then it was time to go.

It was a fun party. The helpers even had a fun time. Happy 10th Birthday Zach! I hope you had an amazing time at your party with your fun friends!
Thanks for visiting and have a beautiful weekend.
