Winner, Winner, Giveaway Winner

And the randomly chosen winner of the Busy Mama Homekeeping Kit from Clean Mama Printables is…….

Busy Mama Homekeeping Kit

Simply Crafting with Rachelle.

Rachelle said, “Holy Cow, these are amazing! Honestly, I need them all. But I think for the one I would need the most right now I would have to pick the “Busy Mama Housekeeping Kit”. I have 6 kids, I run 2 businesses, I’m going to school, 3 of my kids play soccer, 2 plan an instrument, 2 go to counseling sessions on a regular basis, my dh works 2 jobs, goes to school & is my youngest boys soccer coach this season…as you can see it is really hard to keep everything straight (not to mention I have to have time to create). I need all the help I can get!”

Congratulations Rachelle! I know you’ll put these to good use.

I love my Busy Mama Kit. Go here to see mine in action. And if you want to see more great kits from Clean Mama, go here.

Command Giveaway Winner

August 22nd, 2010

First, I’d like to thank all of you who entered the giveaway. You all love these great products almost (wink) as much as I do.

Thanks to all of you who link to We’re Organized Wednesday. When I first thought of hosting an organizing party I was nervous about anyone participating, but you all are amazing and have such wonderful organizing ideas to share. You make this party so fun and worthwhile. I hope you’ll continue participating in it. The party will take place every other Wednesday to give you more time to get something organized. Just check on my sidebar if you’re unsure of the date for the next party.

And a thanks goes out to all of you who don’t have a blog but enjoy decorating and organizing as much as the rest of us. I appreciate you visiting, commenting and participating in the parties and giveaways. I hope you continue to visit and comment.

Now for the Winner! Drum roll, please! The Winner is……………Danielle. Congratulations Danielle! You have 48 hours to respond to receive your Command products. I’ll shoot you out an e-mail to get your mailing address and then your products will be on their way.

Now to answer a few questions about the Command products.

Yes, they do come off very easy and do not leave a trace. Just follow the instructions on the package for easy application and removal.

Yes, I did use them on all the plates on my plate wall and they have all stayed in place. The plates have been up since the middle of June. Some of the plates do have a little thicker lip around the bottom, so I had to add an extra strip to that plate to be able to secure it to the wall. I also used them to hang all the letters on my Family Letter Wall and that’s been up for at least 6 months.

The hooks and clips come with extra strips in the package. There are also packages of extra strips you can purchase. You’ll be interested in these, if you move things around a lot.

3M did send me products to use in my own home and to give some as a giveaway to you,
but they do not pay me for the posts I write about their products.

So, Who’s the Winner

August 10th, 2010

You all are so awesome! We had 45 links to the party last Wednesday. Woo-hoo! You shared some amazing organizing projects, tips and ideas. The next party is August 18! I hope you’re inspired to do some more organizing and you’re ready to join the party again. If you haven’t joined the party yet, don’t be shy. Get something organized and join in.

I bet you’re all wondering who the winner of the King Size Jessica McClintock down-filled pillow from DOWNLITE is?

Well, this cute guy is going to show you.

Here’s a closer look.

Congratulations Liz! You’re going to love this awesome pillow.

I’ll e-mail you to get your mailing address and DownLite will get the pillow sent right out to you. You have 48 hours to respond or unfortunately I’ll have to draw another name.

I’d like to thank DownLite for sponsoring this wonderful giveaway. If you haven’t had a chance to check out their wonderful down-filled merchandise, you can click on the their button on my sidebar.

August Center Piece

August 1st, 2010

July is over so it’s time to change up the dining table center piece again. Let’s look around the house to see what I can come up with. I’m going to start with a square white plate as the base.

I found this cute little sand dollar on a beach in Florida. Since I want the center piece to have a beachy feel, this will work perfectly.

I looped some string through it so it will be able to hang from something in the display.

Then I looked through my paper stash for some fun Summer paper to place in a frame.

I bought this frame last year at Hobby Lobby. It was on clearance for $1.20. It would be super easy to duplicate this look. I think I’ll try making some for around my home.

It’s also the perfect place to hang the cute little sand dollar.

Next, I added a metal star in the perfect shade of blue/green.

And an insulator in a pretty blue also. I know an insulator isn’t very beachy, but it was the right color of blue and was the right height for the display.

Last but not least, I added lots of sea shells. Most of these shells came from Florida.

Here’s the completed center piece. I think I might add something else to the center of the frame. It still looks a little empty to me. But other than that I’m pleased.

It also meets Hubby’s requirement of  the centerpiece not being too tall to see over. This little sand dollar is my favorite part.

Do you change up your centerpiece often?

We’re Organized Wednesday #8

July 21st, 2010

Welcome to another We’re Organized Wednesday. I’ve been busy organizing my stickers. That might not seem like a big job but I have a lot of stickers. Two drawers full, in fact. Don’t worry, I won’t end up with that many.

In my defense they haven’t always been stored this way, but they have been stuffed in these drawers for about a month. I’ve been able to add some storage to my craft room and things have been getting cleaned out and moved around. It is now time to get the stickers organized.

I bought these pencil cases last year at Dollar Tree 2/$1. I was going to use them for something else but it didn’t work out, so they’ve been promoted to sticker organizers.

This is how they’re going to help me the most, because of their size I have to be picky about the stickers I choose to keep. And ask myself these questions about each one:

Do I even like it? Because if I don’t, why am I storing it?

How long have I had this anyway? If it’s been over a couple years there is no way I’m ever going to use it.

Will I use it in the next year? If no, I’m not keeping it.

Then I cut the stickers or sticker sheets down to size and place them in the appropriate box.

Now comes my favorite part. What would any organizing  job be without a handy dandy label maker?

Make sure you get the label tape with the split backing. It makes it so much faster and easier to peel the backing off.

Ahh, why are labels so pretty and comforting to me?

Look how great they fit in the drawer too. Just perfect!

Only one problem. I ran out of pencil boxes and still have 12 piles to organize. I don’t want to pay $1 a box, so if anyone knows where any are on sale I’d appreciate a heads up. It doesn’t matter what color, but I love the blue and green.

I had a few stickers that were too big and they’re now stored in this box. It’s in the drawer below the other stickers.

Now I have a pile of stickers to donate to someone who will love and use them more than me.

Giveaways are now closed. Check back next week for another great giveaway.

So I’m giving them to 2 of you, but only if you promise to use them and not let them end up as clutter in your craft room. All you have to do is:

Live in the United States

Leave me a comment telling me you would like the stickers.

The sticker giveaway will end on Friday. I’ll pick 2 random winners on Friday.

There’s going to be 2 more winners of one of these books:

You must live in the United States.

Leave me a comment or link an organizing post to this party. Let me know which book you would like to win.

The giveaway for the books will end on Saturday. I will pick 2 random winners on Saturday.

I would like to thank Chantel from Treasures Uncovered for sponsoring the giveaway last week. If you haven’t had a chance to check out her new Etsy shop you should hop over there. You won’t be disappointed.

Now, it’s your turn. Let’s see what you’ve organized these last few weeks.
