Living Room

May 1st, 2010

Poppies at Play is having a Parade of Homes Linky Party. Have you enjoyed touring the Parade of Homes Party she’s been having all week? Now it’s your turn to link your favorite room to the party.

My rooms are ever changing. I love my living room because we probably spend the most time in there. The only thing I don’t like about it is the TV. We don’t have our basement (family room) finished yet so the TV has to stay here, at least for a while. I just moved the furniture around about a week ago. This is basically the room now. I moved the love seat next to the fireplace, in front of the window. The leather love seat stayed where it was, as a divider from the dining area. The ottoman opens to hold all the Rock Band pieces.

The chairs were moved to the other side of the carpeted area, in front of the wood floor. The chair on the left came from Ross and the one on the right was from Target. The wall behind stayed the same.

I moved the table over and changed the decor on top. The vase came out of storage and the covered dessert stand came from the kitchen. The green apples and pears came out of storage too. The table was Hubby’s grandparents.

This is the fireplace and mantel right now. I probably change it every 2 to 3 weeks. I have a lot of random accessories in storage that I like to rotate in and out and from room to room.

This table came from Ben Franklin when the one by us was closing down. Because it was part of a display, I got it for $8. It was already painted this gray color. The pillows in the basket are for the kids to use when they lay on the floor to watch TV.

I love my clock wall. I did this 6 years ago when we first moved here. I like using clocks as art. It’s inexpensive, plus I just have a thing for clocks. I have an issue though. I wanted these red walls so bad. I picked just the right color of red and then painted them about 1 1/2 years ago. I loved them for about 1 year, now not so much. I still like the red, but I really like the brown on this next wall, so I might be painting again soon.

This is the wall behind the chairs and the color I was thinking on painting the rest of the room (or maybe a shade lighter).

Our living room pretty much reflects the rest of our house. Furniture that has been bought over time, things that have meaning to us and things we love are all in this room and the rest of our home.

Thanks for visiting and please come back again!

I Could Pack My Bags and Move Right In

February 25th, 2010

I always find one house in the Parade of Homes I could pack my bags and just move right into. I don’t particularly love the outside of this house, but I love the inside. Mostly the decorating.

SS852175

I love water features, even if it’s just a fountain. This is in the entry courtyard.

SS852180

I love the textures, colors and ease of the living room. The sofa color is beautiful. The picture doesn’t do it justice. I love the wood floors too.

SS852187

The windows are gorgeous. I love the table, lamp and cream pillow too. This home just felt peaceful as soon as I walked in the door.

SS852188

It’s a little hard to tell the wall color from the picture, but I’m in love. Surprise, surprise! It’s a grayish brown or a brownish gray. I got the color from the decorator, it’s Kwal Howell Shinto.  I finally found the color I want to paint my bedroom. Now to find the time to paint it.

SS852186

The kitchen cabinets are gorgeous and look perfect against the wall color. I love the glass front cabinets and the subway tile backsplash.

SS852206

Here’s a closer look at the tile over the stove.

SS852183

I love everything about this island. The counter, sink, faucet and shape.

SS852205

How cute is this display?

SS852185

Ohh, I want this desk and the chair behind it. Don’t you love the desk?

SS852181

Two of these chairs were in the office and you know how I love chairs. I love the pillow too. Oh yeah, I grounded myself from pillows.

SS852179

And the lamp on the desk is beautiful.

SS852207

Does this chair look familiar? Hubby got me one just like it for my birthday.

SS852182

I love the detail on the cabinet in the half bath and the mirror is so pretty.

SS852203

I just wanted to jump into this bed with my favorite magazine.

SS852190

And these chairs would be beautiful in any room.

SS852189

Loving these mirrors.

SS852198

These would be so easy to make with scrapbook paper or wallpaper. They’re hanging is the master bathroom.

SS852199

I want to figure out a way to make this or I could always go buy one. The decorator said she bought it at Pier 1 Imports.

SS852201

This chandelier is hanging in the master bath room. Do you see that beautiful wallpaper in the background?

SS852200

How about you. Have you ever gone through a house and thought you could just pack your bags and move in? I’m hoping to use some of these decorating and design ideas in my own home. I’m almost done with reviewing the Parade of Homes. I’m sure that’s a relief to every 4 of you who read this.

Even More of the St. George Parade of Homes

February 24th, 2010

There were some areas of the homes that the kids just seemed to gravitate too. It was hard to get them away from these places and if we lost them we knew where to go look.

An indoor basketball court, the boys thought this was a great idea.

SS851913

Wow, this is the cutest play area. I love the shingles, rock, window, and that incredible door.

SS851915

I probably want this as much as the kids. I swear when people saw us coming they got out of there as fast as they could. It was a great place to sit and relax.

SS851921

I couldn’t keep the boys out of this area. Not just because it looks pretty fun here,

SS851982

but because of  the fun swing around the corner. If I couldn’t find the boys in this house everyone around me could tell me where they were.

SS851983

This isn’t part of a house , but Whitney has wanted a golf cart since she was 12. It was in one of the garages and we just had to take her picture with it.

SS852177

This theater room was huge. The kids made themselves at home in the little theater chairs. Ammon wants to know when we’re getting a theater room. Yeah, right!

SS852263

I hope you’re not sick of the Parade of Homes, because I still have more to show. I’m having a great time in Canada with my grandsons. The baby is adorable.

Thanks for stopping by for a visit.

More Parade of Homes (Outdoor Areas)

February 22nd, 2010

When you go to the Parade of Homes in St. George you know there’s going to be pools in most of the outdoor areas. If I lived in St. George it would be a safe bet I’d have a pool. There were some incredible outdoor areas with and without pools. Here’s some of the outdoor areas I fell in love with.

I love this outdoor living room. Picture above the fireplace and all.

SS851816

Adjacent to the outdoor living room is the pool, of course. Not a big pool, but I wouldn’t complain. It was almost a courtyard, being surrounded by the house on 2 sides and the garage on another.

SS851817

This is the exterior of the home. It’s not a typical St. George style which is why I like it so much. Plus I love a big welcoming porch.

SS851818

There’s going to be a lot of pools in this post. It is St. George after all. I liked how this one blended into the surrounding area. There are actually 3 areas to this pool, a kiddie area, the main pool and the jacuzzi area at the top. Do you see the fire pit in the back? It’s a gas burning tree trunk and it was very warm over there.

SS851862

There’s an outdoor shower and restroom adjacent to this pool. Sorry about the picture, it’s really bad.

SS851863

This is a very family friendly home with a lot for the kids to do and the pool reflects that. To the left of the picture is how you exit the home to the pool area. It’s like walking through a cave, pretty cool. I love the waterfall and the slide.

SS851918

Here’s the rest of the pool area and the jacuzzi. The best part about this pool area is there’s a fence and gate that can be pulled out and locked to block it from the rest of the yard. Very kid-friendly.

SS851919

This is the same home with a fire pit on the deck. Very convenient and I hope safe.

SS851912

This is still the same home. It had a lot going on, on the outside. I love the arbor with swings and hubby couldn’t wait to get down and see the putting green.

SS851910

Amanda Lou and Amanda Moo on one of the swings.

SS851920

I told you Hubby was excited to see the green. He didn’t even care he didn’t have any clubs. He’d move to St. George in a minute.

SS851923

Oh, and look, they set us out some refreshments. I really could have stayed at this house, but on to the next.

SS851924

A random water feature. I don’t even remember where it was, but there were a lot of water features this year. I think the sound of running water is so relaxing.

SS851929

I like the shape of this pool and how the jacuzzi is being featured in the center of the pool.

SS851981

Another view of the same pool. And how about the view from the pool.

SS851995

This home decided to forgo the pool and build a splash area. I love these for little kids, even big ones. Sometimes it’s just fun to go out and get wet. It’s pretty too.

SS852018

This is a “green” home. It had a pretty cool design, but my favorite part of it is the inner courtyard. The house basically surrounds it. These are the stairs going up to the roof area. The boys liked these.

SS852044

Here we are on the roof and Hubby pointing out the solar panels. He’s really into those kind of things. No, he’s not just talking to someone random, that’s my son-in-law.

SS852042

Here’s the view of the some of the courtyard from the roof.

SS852043

I could live in this house just for the views. Is that breathtaking or what? This is the view from the living room. The buyers of this home are from the Northeast and fell in love with the landscape in St. George. They wanted their home to be as open to the surrounding views as possible. I think they achieved that. Most of the windows in the home are like this.

SS852084

One of the side outdoor areas.

SS852089

This is the walkway leading to that area. I’m in love.

SS852093

And one of the exterior showers of the home. There were a few.

SS852090

This is an area right outside the office/craft room.

SS852094

And here is the amazing pool that seems to blend right into the surrounding area. When you’re standing next to the house you can hardly see the pool because it blends in so well with the mountains and rocks around it. I really was ready to jump in for a swim. I talked to the owner and he was so pleased with how the home turned out, because they were living back East at the time it was being built.

SS852102

There were a lot of fountains as water features too. Here’s one in an entry courtyard.

SS852123

And another water feature. I’m going to have to try to make a small water feature in my yard this Spring. Apparently I really like them.

SS852127

Look at this entry. This was our last house on the tour and it didn’t disappoint.

SS852244

The pool area with the jacuzzi. Isn’t it beautiful at night? There’s a firepit to the left of the pool.

SS852260

Another waterfall into the pool. And what a view.

SS852261

We had to stop and take this. We were only a few yards from the Arizona border. So here are the kids standing in Utah and Arizona. From front to back: Ammon, Zach (being blocked by the pole), Amanda Moo, Amanda Lou, Whitney, Ty and Emilee.

SS852208

I’m still not done with the Parade of Homes. If you can believe that. I still have to show you my favorite home. Not really in terms of the home, but in terms of decorating.

I’m off to Canada tonight on the red-eye (don’t ask why I’m taking that flight, it was a mistake). Hopefully I’ll be awake enough tomorrow to write a post. I can’t wait to see my new grandson and his older brothers. I’m going up to help balance the genders in their home. I hate flying by myself. I know hate is a strong word, but I mean it in this case.

Have a beautiful day!

More of the St. George Parade of Homes (Bedrooms)

February 20th, 2010

I might have to do a few more posts about the Parade of Homes, unless you want it to take an hour just to read this one post. There’s so many things I love about the homes, but my favorite is probably the decorating. Let’s take a look at some of the bedrooms. Okay, a lot of them are mostly the bed. I love bedding!

These colors are just beautiful. So relaxing and calming. What a great space for a girl to spend her time. I love the lamp too.

SS851808

I had to hurry to snap a picture of this room. There was a long line behind me. That was probably the only bad thing about the parade, there were so many people viewing the homes. The colors in this room just make me happy. Look at the cute ruffle pillow on the bed. I’ll have to remember that. And what about that mirror and netting?  I think my Emilee would love that.

SS851812

I could just take this whole bed. It’s me! The black bed, black and white bedding and the accent of red. My accent’s green right now, but I could go back to red really easily. I really love this whole look.

SS851813

I like rooms that are real. I could just picture 2 little boys playing in here. Those signs over the bed’s are great. On the opposite wall there was a large canvas of the U.S. in license plates. So perfect and not over done.

SS851855

This is the sitting area in the Master bedroom. It feels so cozy. I wanted to just snatch that mirror right off the wall.

SS851976

Here’s the sleeping area. Black, brown and cream look amazing together. Those lamps are so what I want. We’ll have to see what I can do with the thrift store lamps I found.

SS851979

Here’s a closer look at the wallpaper. That is stunning!

SS851978

Oh, the perfect boys room. They did go a little overboard with the theme, but look at that amazing headboard. The wall behind the headboard is pretty amazing too. And again, I love the bedding.

SS851987

Here’s what’s on the wall across from the bed and my daughter and son-in-law posing under it. There’s a “Jack and Jill” bathroom in the background.

SS851993

Both of these girls wanted this room. The canopy bed, the draped fabric, the chandelier, and the bedding. What girl wouldn’t want this room?

SS851985

This bedroom was bigger than the whole first floor of my house. A little much for me, but look at the special alcove that was made  just for the bed. And a whole king size bed full of pillows that I just want to cozy into. This house is 12,000 square feet.

SS852248

This room was so crowded I couldn’t even take a picture of the whole bed, but I do love this pillow and could probably figure out how to make one similar to it.

SS851999

If I had 2 girls sharing a room I would want it to look like this. The pictures got mixed up, but this is the room on the other side of the boy’s basketball room.

SS852016

Remember eariler when I said I really wanted that black and white bed. Well, apparently I need 2 beds because I would love to have this one too. Headboard, bedding, and all those pillows, so dreamy.

SS852190

That’s it for the bedrooms/bedding. What’s your style for your bedroom. Do you like vibrant colors and a lot going on? Or dreamy colors and textures that remind you this is a place to sleep? I think it depends on what else you plan on using your room for. Ideally, it should only be used for sleeping, but some of us also use it for an exercise room, craft room, study and TV room. So, you decide and no one says you can’t change your mind next year.

I Dream About Chairs

February 16th, 2010

I’ll just get this post out of the way. We went to the Parade of Homes in St. George and I took so many pictures of chairs. I love going to the home shows to get new ideas, but I really love chairs. I did take a lot of other pictures and I’ll get to those later in the week, but for now I want to share my obsession of chairs with you. So indulge me, okay? Sorry about some of the pictures, but there were a lot of people going through the homes. I had to hurry and didn’t always get the best angles.

How great would this look in an office.

SS851859

How about these in a library.

SS851858

Look at those dining chairs. Okay I want the table too.

SS851909

What about this beautiful fabric. Okay, I’ll take the pillow too. That’s another obsession I have.

SS851917

Very regal, don’t you think?

SS851925

I’ll take 2 of these.

SS851996

Leopard was very popular, but I’m more of a zebra girl. I love those curvy arms.

SS851997

Pretty shape and I want that pillow.

SS852000

I love the detail in the back and the fabric on the seat is beautiful.

SS852020

It looks so comfy and I love the color.

SS852040

Awesome fabric and major over-stuffed.

SS852041

Love the shape, but would want mine in zebra. Maybe in my dressing room (haha).

SS852045

Love these chairs, but these 2 girls more.

SS852089

Definitely one of my favorites.

SS852124

Really bad picture, but I had to show this gorgeous chair.

SS852126

I love those arms and the slight curve to the back.

SS852138

Hubby would really like this one in an office.

SS852139

Reminds me of my grandma. I would love it in a dining room.

SS852140

This one was for sale. Love it. Want it. But not for over $500.

SS852142

Adore that material and the shape of the chair. Okay, the pillow too.

SS852179

Do you recognize this chair? Yep, I got one just like it for my birthday. Thanks Hubby!

SS852182

I big heart these chairs and of course the pillows.

SS852189

Here’s a closer look. That’s hundreds of little pleats all over the chair. I don’t even want to know how much it costs.

SS852197

Bad lighting, but the chair still looks great.

SS852249

Not a chair, but you can sit on it, so I’m counting it. This is in their master bathroom that is the size of my kitchen, dining area and living room all together.

SS852250

Okay, not a chair again, but I love it and you could use it as one in a pinch.

SS852255

So pretty and feminine.

SS852259

Just love that shape and the leather.

SS852262

Curvy arms again. I could see Hubby and I sitting in these in our old age.

SS852266

Thanks for indulging me in my chair obsession. Do you have any pieces of furniture or other objects you find yourself drawn to? I’ll save myself some money and for now just take pictures of them.

Salt Lake Valley Parade of Homes

August 12th, 2009

We went to the Salt Lake Parade of Homes on Saturday. We were being really picky about which homes to see  because this was the only day we could go. Yes, on the whole I was disappointed again. Don’t get me wrong, there were some beautiful homes with beautiful decor, but I go to look and dream of things I will never have. I want to oooh and aah non stop. It’s great entertainment for me. I did get some ideas though and met some really nice people. Especially the owner of this first home:

SS851755

They tore down the existing home, that they had also built originally and built this new home in it’s place. They built both homes around this tower that used to be part of a monastery or nunnery in the 1800’s (I not sure, I wasn’t listening very well at this point, because I was checking out the rug and stairs and a cool chair in the corner, sorry). The furniture was amazing, there was so much light coming in that it felt like you were outside, all the floors were cement with heating tubes underneath, the stairs were bamboo with steel railings and there’s an all glass elevator. It’s a green home with recycled materials and good energy use. I didn’t take pictures on the inside, because the owner had already moved alot of their own furnishings in and I didn’t want to invade their privacy.

Loved this room:

SS851814

And this room:

SS851853

And this all Ikea room:

SS851877

Love this Entry:

SS851888

Another Entry:

SS851873

Fun sliding barn door:

SS851893

Love these windows in the kitchen:

SS851865

Fell in love with these amazing doors from England:

SS851816

Want these tables:

SS851811

SS851822

SS851823

SS851896

SS851900

And these benches:

SS851819

SS851854

Love this black and white with a pop of red bedroom:

SS851924

Holy Humongous Lamp: How does your partner get to sleep if you’re reading? Love the black, white and red though.

SS851786

Love the clock hands over the bed, of course:

SS851892

I want to try to make a lamp shade like this: I think the whole lamp was around $90 and that’s just way too much for me.

SS851923

Sorry, the pictures were a mixture of all the houses. And they were in no particular order. Somehow they got all mixed up and I don’t have a great memory (my memory, not the computer’s). So, they’ll just have to stay the way they are now.

One more Parade of Homes to go, in Park City. I can’t wait! I’m ready to be impressed!

Northern Wasatch Parade of Homes

July 6th, 2009

The Northern Wasatch Parade of Homes is going on now, so of course, I’ve had to make time to get to as many homes as possible. I enjoy this Home Show. Because the homes are so close to my home I can view just a couple a night if needs be. Here are some highlights of the parade:

SS851977

This is mine and hubby’s all time favorite home inside and out.

SS851967

SS851969

SS851968

The upstairs bathroom was gorgeous. I loved the tile around the room, on the floor, and in the shower. The counter top was a beautiful gray-brown caesar stone. And look at that irresistible window and window seat. IN A BATHROOM! Awesome!

SS851970

I want this craft room. Love the floor, storage cabinets, shelves, countertops, light coming in and so much more.

SS851965

Beautiful fireplace in the living room. I thought I got a picture of the beadboard ceiling, but I can’t seem to find it. Trust me. It was amazing.

SS851971

SS851972

Who says theatre rooms have to be dark and gloomy? This room has incredible color, comfortable seating and it’s inviting to the little ones in the family. Love the green and blue chairs. Pretty white cabinets in the back too.

SS851973

Love this sink in the downstairs bathroom.

SS851976

Does anyone really have shelves that look like this in their laundry room? If I had this laundry room, I promise mine would always look this way. I love the detail at the top.

SS851305

What little girl wouldn’t want this room? Heck, I want it. Again, there’s just something about black furniture.

SS851542

How fun is this mobile in a kids craft room? I’m going to have to try this one.

SS851924

I’m for sure having hubby help me make this drinking fountain for the backyard. No more running in the house every five minutes for a drink.

I have more pictures I’ll show later.

Utah Valley Parade of Homes-The Phoenix

June 1st, 2009

The last home I went through at the Parade of Homes was the Phoenix. It was named that because there had been a devastating house fire and it has risen from the ashes to become a beautiful home. I was so impressed with this home. Not for the size, tall ceilings, many bathrooms and bedrooms and swimming pool. It had none of these. I was impressed because of the archways, open areas, architectural details, wonderful colors, appealing design and even the smallest detail to accessories. This home was saved because of the family and the wonderful memories they shared within its’ walls. All is well, no one was injured in the fire and now they have a home that they were able to preserve with their memories and make even better.

This is the far living room wall. I really like the plate shelves on the outside of the room and the darker diagonal shelves in the center. Look how the center of the wall has been brought out. I love the chandelier, sofa, lamp, plates and art. What a great color combination.

This is the cove on the front wall of the living room. Look at how much light comes in and it’s north facing. I would love to spend all my time reading in this spot. I’m sorry I missed the chair in the lower right side of this picture. It’s amazing and looked great in this room.

I love this all white kitchen. The room feels so open and fresh even though it’s not a very large area. I might really enjoying cooking in here. I really like the shelves between the two spice cabinets and the molding on the cabinets.

Awesome eat-in kitchen. This area looks so good it’s hard to believe it’s in the kitchen. I love the white wall with the architectural detail, the table and chairs, the art and that mirror is fantastic. Look at the nail head trim on the chairs. The floor is bamboo and looks and feels great.

This is a fun element to add to the shower area of a bathroom. I love the wall

color.

This is the office for the man of the house. He’s an architect, owns the home and designed the new plans for the home’s interior and exterior. He also did the interior design for the home. Very talented man! Love the chair. This room is open to the entry of the home to the right of the picture.

The master bedroom closet is not large, but very stylish. I love the archway. It could be covered with some beautiful sheer material. Look at that lamp too.

The master bedroom feels relaxing and calming. I love the headboard and the bench at the foot of the bed. Do you think they’d mind if I lie down for a minute?

The kids’ room is so fun. Look at this house. It even has a little doormat in front of the door. The bed is a loft bed in the back of the little playhouse, so there is lots of room to play on the floor. The window seat is really cute too. You can see a little of it in this picture. I love window seats. Look at that great light. So beautiful.

Here’s another view of the window seat with shelves on one side of it. Great for storing books to read in this cozy spot.

This is a view of the living room through the office. Love the arches and the light. Great detail.

Play room under the stairs. What little girl wouldn’t want to have this kitchen set-up. Look at that great chair and little table. Love the orange rug.

Down stairs bathroom. I love black and white and the blue walls make it look so fresh. The cabinet is beautiful and I appreciate all the storage room it has.

How fun is this laundry/art studio? Love the vinyl shapes, the flooring, the art table and chairs. Okay, I love the whole room, even the washer and dryer. The three arches go into the family room.

Another view of the laundry/art studio. Look at that vinyl chair, the hat/coat rack, the bistro set and the flooring again. The little cut through is to the under stairs play room.

This is the family room that’s just on the other side of the art studio. I really like the shelves on each side of the fireplace. The colors in this room are so wonderful. I have never liked orange very much, but I am really starting to like it now.

They call this a mudroom. It’s not really a room, but it’s a functional little area that comes in from the back yard. I love the mirror and bench. You could add some shelving to the right side of the room (outside of the picture) to hold outdoor gear. It has a really nice archway too.

This is the outside of the house. It was a basic split-level before the fire. I don’t know about other areas of the country, but they don’t build split-levels much around here anymore. And I never thought one would appeal to me, but this house is so amazing. Look at all the archways and details that have been added to the front. I love the round cut-out above the porch and the fun little roof lines that have been added. I’m happy for this family and their beautiful new home.

Utah Valley Parade of Homes Favorites

May 31st, 2009

Saturday my hubby and I went to the Utah Valley Parade of Homes. Oh, so much fun. I oohed and aahed all day long. I tried to take it all in but not make my husband linger in one room for too long.  We finally took a break at 3:30 to eat some lunch and get some time to sit down. Here are some of my favorites. Can you believe I’m finally doing pictures? My wonderful hubby has been patient with me and taken some time to show me how to do things I should already know how to do. Remember, I’m technically challenged. I took a lot of notes, pathetic huh? Okay, back to my favorites:

This house has incredible windows in every room. My favorite windows by far and my favorite builders too. They were great to talk to and answered a lot of questions.

This house has my favorite play/craft room. It’s a huge area with balconies that look down on the dining room and family room areas. I love how light the room is. Even though it’s in the middle of the house and doesn’t have any windows, it gets light from the foyers big windows and the wall of windows in the back of the house.

This house has my favorite backyard. It has six deck and/or patio areas and a creek running through the backyard with a cute bridge going over it to the other side of the yard. I’d probably have to put life jackets on my kids everyday though if they were going to play out back. Yeah, the swimming pool is great too and if you want to swim year round in Utah you need it enclosed. These barn doors are my favorite theatre doors I have ever seen. I absolutely love them.

This house is so cute and comfortable. It has my favorite front door, living room ceiling, outside kids play area, stained glass windows, bathtub and bathroom, and bedroom closet door. I also love the lights, they’re fun and original and make my smile. The owner was cute too. She’s a grandma and has great style and I can tell she’s just fun.

This is my favorite all around house. What don’t I like about this house? It has everything the last house has plus more. I could see my family living in this house. Not that I want to move, I’m just saying. More great lights, especially the garage lights. I want these on my house. Look at this great wall covering, so cute. My favorite dining room. There were great storage ideas too, like this shallow area at the side of the kitchen cabinets. Love it.

I don’t usually like every home in the Parades and this is the one for this year. There was nothing particularly wrong with the home, but it was way too pretentious. Would you pay 2.5 million for a home that had very little yard and basically sat in some one else’s back yard? The house on the left is the 2.5 million dollar home and the house on the right is in front of it (that’s the back of it). Oh, they also share a driveway. Yes it is brick, but I mean, really.

This wasn’t in the Parade of Homes, but we ran across this back yard and I had to take pictures. They have a creek with an island in the middle of it and they planted grass on the island. How do they mow it? They also took rocks and made a little pool area. I was in awe. What a beautiful area and the sound of the water running was so relaxing. Amazing!

I loved this house from the outside but was a little disappointed with the inside. There were some great things about it though. It has my favorite kitchen floor and breakfast area, fireplace, sink in the bathroom off the garage, and I love the separate garage.

This house wasn’t in the Parade of Homes, but it made me sad. I wanted to cry for it and for whatever family used to live in it. It is absolutely beautiful. There were a lot of empty homes on this street. I blame it on the economy. For some reason I felt a connection with this home. I wanted to go in it but the gate was locked and it had a sign on it that said something like, “Don’t go inside or we’ll shoot you.” It’s on 1 ½ -2 acres, has a beautiful wooded area, play area, basketball courts, swimming pool, etc. It’s had some damage done to it, hence the sign. I hope it finds a good family and is repaired and remodeled to its previous grandeur.

This house wasn’t my style, but it had some really fun things in it. It had this great light, a creek running through the back yard and an awesome pass through between the garage and house.

I have one more house that we viewed in the Parade of Homes I want to comment on, but I’m saving it for tomorrow. So that’s all for today. I hope you enjoy viewing these homes as much as I did. By the way, did you notice there weren’t any bedrooms or living rooms? I didn’t, until I reviewed the pictures. Apparently I wasn’t really taken by any of them. I find that a little odd.
