While I was at Ross the other day I picked up this garbage can for $4. Don’t you just love the blue color? Uhmmm, no! Maybe in another room, but not my bathroom.

Spray Painted Furniture 009

First, I primed it because it was so dark and I didn’t want to use all my heirloom white paint trying to cover up the blue. I’ll be honest with you, I only use primer about 50% of the time.

Then I painted it heirloom white and liked how it looked, but I wanted to make the center design pop a little more.

Master Bath 003

So, then I made a big mistake. UGH! Ugly. I didn’t even have to finish and I could tell you this was a big disaster. I very strongly hate dislike it. This was all I could wipe off.

Master Bath 004

So, I used more heirloom white and painted over it again. Aaah, much better and I think the detail pops enough. And I don’t want to have to paint it again.

Master Bath 005

I love spray paint and being able to cover up my mistakes!

You know alot of times I pass something up that is a great deal because it is the wrong color. I don’t always think of painting it. This was a great project.
Thanks for sharing.

I love to make things pretty with a coat of white paint! This is a classic example. I love it. I would love to have you join my Mclinky party Favorite Things Friday the 19th if you are interested!

It look fabulous all white. I’ve totally been there when I start changing part of a project and realize, no, that’s not happening. That’s what I love about PAINT!

Nice work…I have several trash cans that could use a face lift..

mary March 17, 2010 at 1:19 pm

Great job!! I need to think about doing this to a few of my trash cans- they are looking pretty trashy!
