Peek Through Last Week (July 31-August 6)

Sunday– Our Sundays are really relaxed. They usually consist of church, naps, friends or family, and movies. Ammon was working on his Lego creations this Sunday. That boy is addicted to Legos. He’s into spaceships lately.

Monday– The boys have been wanting to play croquet. It’s also on our Summer Fun List so we decided to play it during Family Home Evening. I won! I always win at games. Hubby hates that I always win, but the boys didn’t seem to mind. They were just having fun. I also registered Emilee for 8th grade. It was about time since it was the last day to register.

Tuesday– Ammon had been saving soda bottles secretly. He had a project in mind. He taped them all together, then made a little sail out of a sticky note and a toothpick. He wanted to sail it in the pool so when he got home from school we sailed it. He was so happy when it floated around the pool.

Wednesday– Ammon went to play at his friends house today. He hadn’t been there for a while. His friend usually comes to our house to play. They have a cat and apparently Ammon is allergic to them now. When he came home his eye was swelling up and his throat was itchy. I gave him allergy medicine then put a cold wash cloth over his eye. He laid on the couch and was out in about 10 minutes. Poor little guy.

Thursday– We decided it was time for our annual backyard campout. The kids always love it. We cook and eat outside, roast marshmallows, make s’mores, star gaze, watch a movie in the tent, read books, and laugh a lot. It’s so fun and I always get to bed early because I’m not on the computer or working on a project. Maybe we should campout more often.

Friday– Hubby took off work and the boys took off a day of school so we could spend the day at a lake. It was so fun to get away with the family again. We took a picnic lunch and lots of snacks. I wish we would have brought enough food for dinner too so we could have stayed longer. The kids had fun in the little row boat and the petal boat. They had fun just playing in the water too. No sunburns on the younger kids, just the oldest kid and the adults. We were exhausted when we got home. Why does the sun always drain your energy so much?

Saturday– The Emigration Trail Branch had a carnival at our church today. We went over for a while to eat lunch and have the boys play a few games. I had a steak street taco (actually 2). I love those things. I could have eaten 4 but I thought that probably wouldn’t be a great idea. The boys won fish and I kept thinking I hope these last more than a day. I really don’t want anything dying today. They lasted about 6 hours. I don’t know why we can’t keep fish alive. But now it looks like we’re buying more fish on Monday. Can they please last more than a day!

I hope you all had a fantastic week!
