Peek Through Last Week (July 24-30)

Sunday– Ammon loves to help me cook or bake. I’ll be fixing something and he’ll disappear then come back with his apron on. I love that he still likes to help me in the kitchen and I don’t have to beg him. Plus I think he likes to sample the goodies before the other kids get too. Zach wasn’t feeling well so he didn’t go to church today (maybe he just wanted to catch up on his cartoons).

Monday– Utah celebrates Pioneer Day July 24th, but since it fell on Sunday this year we celebrated it on Monday. We had a picnic, swam in the pool, played some games and watched fireworks. Hubby had to work half the day so the kids spent the morning watching the parade on TV and swimming. The kids are on the roof of the van.

Tuesday– The boys started school today. Ammon in 2nd grade and Zachary in 6th. I can’t believe how fast the time is going by. My youngest are growing up so fast. Don’t get me started on school starting so early. We’re on year round school but I don’t like it and never will. The boys were pretty excited though to meet their new teachers and make some new friends. Aren’t they cute!

Wednesday– I was invited to attend a Salt Lake Parade of Homes preview. It was fun to be able to preview one of the homes and meet and talk with the builder. I already wrote one post on the home and am going to write a second one later this week.

Thursday– I went out to lunch with one of my friends. We’ve been meaning to get together for a few months but things kept getting in the way. I’m glad we finally got together. We went to Iggy’s in Layton. While we were talking I noticed the floor and decided something like it would be perfect  for the basement. I’ve been wanting something inexpensive, durable and unique. I think this might be it.

Friday– We had a back-to-school pool party at my house for Activity Days. I love these cute little girls. They had a blast swimming and eating treats. We made smoothies served in sno-cone cups and also had cookies. Stacy and I had a great time too, because we just sat back and watched them have fun.

Saturday– Hubby and I went to the Salt Lake Parade of Homes for our Saturday date. I’ll have a post on it later, but I just had to show you the “Up” house. It was so fun to see and Carl and Russell were sitting in front of the house having their pictures taken with visitors. I might have cried when I walked into the nursery. Hubby and I love the Parade of Homes but mostly just spending time together (without the kids).
